Avascular necrosis is commonly seen nowadays. Many patients who have recovered from Covid19 complain of joint pain, which makes doctors worry about bone death, medically called avascular necrosis, which may be another devastating post-complication such as mucormycosis. This condition means bone death. Avascular Necrosis is a disease that occurs when the blood supply to the bone is temporarily or permanently cut off, according to Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

This most commonly affects the long bone ends which cause small breaks in the bone and cause the bone’s collapse eventually.
